Have You Joined the HGA for the
2011-2012 Season?
Your HGA Board would love to see a record
number of members this year. And, you don't have to be a Guide to join the HGA. We'd like to see representation
from as many different departments associated with the Monument as possible. If you have an interest in the Hilltop,
in the Art, in the Story, in any part of the Hearst legacy, paid State staff member or docent, know that you can join and
become a part of the Historical Guides Association of California. This is an official 501(c) non-profit, non-political
organization with the sole purpose of fellowship and sharing of information about the Hearst Legacy between interested
people. Cost is only
a donation of $15 for the Season. Or $25 for couples (it's a "quantity discount"). Click on the link
below to download and print a membership form. Directions are on the form. Treasurer Debra Rawlings will be happy
to take your money and set up your membership for the 2011-2012 membership year. Remember that this is a bargain,
because we ask a non-member event attendance donation of $15 per event attended. So, if you attend one event, it's basically the
same as signing up for the season. Your
new Board is busy setting up another great year of outstanding programs. So please join us and add your presence
to the fun!

The HGA Store is Always Open!
Word from Treasurer
Debra Rawlings is that the HGA has sold all the California State Parks Bear Patches it had in stock. However, there
are still a bunch of the gold-like Grizzly Bear Pins still in the HGA "store". Order instructions
along with the price is posted on the HGA Store page. Your HGA will continue to offer the Bear Pins as long as they last.
In the meantime, if you need a new Bear patch, you'll need to purchase that from your regular State Parks source. And thanks for shopping HGA!
How Do I Request Complimentary
Tours?
Here's an FYI,
in case you missed the procedure change from Nick Franco, District Superintendent. There is a new way to arrange
for your complimentary tours, which is now in effect. To quote from the memo of May 3, 2011, it reads... "Please direct all
requests to John Fixler, Ticket Office Supervisor, at jfixler@hearstcastle.com or by calling 927-2115. Employees
and guests will now receive their tickets and tour information from any ticket window."
